Submissions

ARTICLE REQUIREMENTS

The Loyola Maritime Law Journal publishes original content on current legal issues in maritime, aviation, and space law.  We invite the submission of content of all types (e.g. Articles, Essays, Comments, Notes, etc.) from practicing lawyers, judges, and academics for publication. While we consider submissions of all lengths, most of our published pieces run between fifteen (15) and thirty-five (35) pages.

We request that submissions be in Microsoft Word format (.doc, .docx).  The journal uses footnote citations.  Please format citations using The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th ed.) guidelines.

All statements of  law or fact should be footnoted.  Opinions of the author need not be cited.

Beginning Fall 2017, the Loyola Current will accept blog submissions from practitioners, judges, and academics, subject to board approval. Submissions may be in the form of news, case summaries, or short essays. Case summaries should be short and no longer than 1 page, unless the case is extremely complicated.
