Jordan G. McFaull, J.D., was the first Captain to take the helm here at the Current. Jordan was a scholar. After moving further south from his home state of Kentucky, he graduated cum laude from Tulane with degrees in English and History and went on to receive a Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal and completed legal internships with both the U.S. Coast Guard Eighth District, New Orleans and Judge Stephen B. Beasley, Many, Louisiana.

Jordan was tenacious. After passing the Louisiana Bar in 2014, he joined the law firm of Mouledoux, Bland, Legrand & Brackett where he became a rising star in Admiralty Law.

Jordan had an infectious love of life. He enjoyed sports, hiking, outdoor activities, cooking, watching documentaries, traveling, and spending summers with his relatives in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was an all-star athlete, excellent student, persuasive orator, outstanding writer, charismatic leader, compassionate friend, and loving son.

The world grew a bit darker without his light when Jordan passed away at the young age of 26. Here, Jordan still remains our guide star. We continue to chart a new course, and his legacy lives on as long as we stay true.

To learn more about Jordan through his words, here is his prolific list of publications:
